A graduate of both the US Border Patrol Academy and the FBI National Academy, Saenz worked as Patrol Agent along the US Mexico border throughout Texas and as a Special Agent in undercover operations throughout the US and Latin America.
He is the recipient of the United States Attorney General’s Award for Operation Eastern Star- an undercover operation through multiple countries in Latin America and the Middle East that led to the dismantling of a global terrorist organization responsible for trafficking criminal aliens into the US from Lebanon, Syria, Guatemala, and Iran.
Saenz is also the recipient of the U.S. Immigration Commissioner’s Award for infiltrating a human trafficking organization in El Paso Texas that was exploiting the deaf mute community and forcing their children into indentured servitude. The traffickers involved in that criminal enterprise included Cartel members from Juarez Mexico and US Citizen accomplices from throughout Texas. All were all successfully tried and prosecuted.
Saenz holds formal degrees in Criminal Justice and Business Management from The University of Texas El Paso and Wayland Baptist University.
While serving as a Key Staff Advisor to Congress, Saenz was recognized as one of the top legislative staff officers to work across party lines. This led to Saenz being appointed as the US/Mexico Border Liaison for international trade and Border Security. Saenz was also selected to work on an advisory group that later created the Office of Homeland Security after the 9/11 attacks.
As a Federal Agent, Saenz was also an Advanced Intelligence Officer and Hostage Negotiator which helped his efforts in Congress and with his current career in medical compliance.
Today, he is the President of VIP Medical, a firm comprised of former federal agents that provide support to Physicians and their attorneys throughout medical board and regulatory investigations.
Recognized as an expert in making medical practices profitable and compliant with regulatory standards, Saenz has been featured on CBS “The Doctors”, Fox News, National Public Radio, and many other media outlets.

Jon’s career includes roles with Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies in sales and business development, where he excelled in forging strong client relationships and driving growth. As an entrepreneur, he has Founded and operated:
• J Bar T Ventures, a domestic land improvement company.
• An international maritime security consultancy, providing services to the shipping, oil and gas, and NGO sectors.
• A private security and investigations firm, where he currently serves as the Qualified Manager and Senior Investigator in Boerne, Texas.
In addition to his business ventures, Jon co-founded, co-hosts, and produces The Texas Examiner, an investigative journalism podcast. He also co-hosts Salute Radio, a program and print publication dedicated to supporting veterans and their families in the Texas Hill Country, and provides small business consulting to select clients.
Jon is recognized for his ability to solve complex challenges, manage crises, and build effective teams—a skillset he refers to as “Crisis Management, Mitigation, and Prevention Engineering.”

Jon’s international experience includes consulting on antipiracy and operational protection from 2010 to 2013. He worked extensively across
Africa, the Middle East, the Indian Ocean, and the Red Sea, providing critical support to shipping, oil, and NGO operations in high-risk regions.
As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in regulatory compliance and auditing for the maritime security industry, Jon contributed significantly to global
standards. He served as Executive Director for the International Association of Maritime Security Professionals (IAMSP) and worked with ASIS
International to develop ISO 28000, ISO 9001, and ANSI certifications, focusing on regulatory training and operational standards (PSC.4).
Military and Public Service
Jon is a Service-Connected Disabled Veteran with over 15 years of service in the U.S. Army, Texas Army National Guard, and U.S. Army Reserves. His military career included diverse roles with increasing responsibility, supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and participating in Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief (HADR) missions. His efforts include:
• Search and Rescue for Hurricane Katrina.
• Support during the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster.
• Relief efforts in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake.
In civilian capacities, Jon also deployed for disaster response and security following Hurricanes Irma and Michael. His expertise spans disaster
management, logistics, avionics, operational protection, and advanced marksmanship. In 2017–2018, Jon ran for public office, reinforcing his
commitment to community service and his belief in leading by example.
Community and Personal Life
Jon resides in Kendalia, Texas, where he actively participates in ranching activities such as horseback riding, cattle work, and restoring barns. In
his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, practicing marksmanship, and producing content for The Texas Examiner and Salute.
Jon also serves as Vice Chair of the Kendall County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, contributing to the enrichment of his local community.
